PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove prussic acid gas without using chromium and to control the generation of cyanogen gas in the process. SOLUTION: In a prussic acid gas removing material, copper-adherent active carbon and alkaline active carbon are combined. As a kind of combination, an alkaline active carbon layer 3 is arranged under a copper-adherent active carbon layer 2, the layer 2 and the layer 3 are arranged alternately, or the layer 2 and the layer 3 are mixed. In a method for producing the hydrogen cyanide removing material, active carbon is treated with a potassium hydroxide aqueous solution and, after copper being adhered to the active carbon, treated with an alkaline aqueous solution.
|
