PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base pigment-based ink as an ink for an ink jet printer, which can be ejected always stably even upon a change in driving conditions or during long-term use. SOLUTION: The water-base pigment-based ink essentially contains a pigment, a polymeric dispersant, a surfactant, and water, and the pigment particles have a mean particle diameter of 80 nm or below and a maximum particle diameter of 0.1 m or below, the rate of the amount of the polymeric dispersant to that of the ink 3-20 wt.%, and the surfactant is used in an amount of 2-4 wt.% based on the ink. |
