PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polynucleotide having high identity to a nucleic acid encoding Rat B polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence and useful for screening of an antibacterial compound, treatment and diagnosis, etc., of Chlamydia trachomatis infection. SOLUTION: This new isolated polynucleotide is composed of a polynucleotide having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding Rat B polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence of the formula and a polynucleotide, etc., having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding a matured polypeptide the same as that manifested with rat B gene contained in Chlamydia trachomatis strain and is useful for screening of an antibacterial compound or treatment and diagnosis, etc., of Chlamydia trachomatis infection. The polynucleotide is obtained by probing a chromosome DNA library of Chlamydia trachomatis with a labeled oligonucleotide derived from a partial sequence. |
