PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a database constructing work by preparing a character in a short time without necessitating any high level editing technique. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an inputting device 1, display device 9, database in a hard disk device 15, and processing means in a device main body 14, and a character is prepared based on input information and the information of the retrieved result of the database. The database is provided with a constituent element information table 10 for dividing a character face into constant divisions, and managing constituent elements constituting a character by constituting element information obtained by relating constituting element identification information for identifying the constituent elements, constituting element division information related with the combination of the divided faces having a constant size, and the graphic information of the constituent elements with each other, and a character constitution information table 11 for managing the character by character constituent information obtained by relating the constituting element information with constituent element arrangement information indicating the arranging position of the graphic information of the constituent elements. |
