PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap assembly of a secondary battery, which operates when internal pressure rises beyond the prescribed pressure by abnormal behavior of the battery, lowers the internal pressure of the battery, prevents an accidental explosion, and can keep security. SOLUTION: A secondary battery cap assembly 60 provided in an aperture of a can electrically connected with a negative electrode taken up together with a positive electrode and a separator is composed of a negative electrode part 62 coupled with the can, a positive electrode part 66 insulated from the negative electrode part 62, a fastening means which perforates into the negative electrode part 62 and the positive electrode part 66, is insulated from the negative electrode part 62 and is provided with a vent 74, and a safety valve 76 provided in the vent 74 of the fastening means. Thus, internal pressure of the battery acts on the bottom of the safety valve 76. |
