PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized LED chip the polarity of which can be discriminated easily and which can be mounted automatically. SOLUTION: A semiconductor light emitting element chip is provided with a light emitting layer forming section 12 in which an n-type semiconductor layer 1 and a p-type semiconductor layer 2 are provided so as to form a light emitting layer, and an n-side electrode 4 and a p-side electrode 5 which are electrically connected to the semiconductor layers 1 and 2, respectively. The electrodes 4 and 5 are provided on both end faces of the light emitting layer forming section 12 and, in addition, are formed in indifferent external sizes and shapes. |
