PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger having high heat transfer performance and low pressure loss. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger comprises a plurality of planar fins 1 laminated in parallel to pass a gas therebetween, a plurality of cut and raised parts 3 provided on the surface of the planar fin 1 while having an opening facing the gas flow, and a plurality of heating tubes 2 for passing a fluid disposed perpendicularly to the passing direction of gas. Number N of the cut and raised parts 3 to be made along the direction of gas flow is set in such a range as the increasing rateΔP* of the pressure lossΔP due to increase of the number N of the cut and raised parts does not exceed the increasing rate Q* of the quantity of heat to be transferred due to increase of the number N of the cut and raised parts.
