PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device in which the light emitting output of a light source is appropriately controlled even if there is a fluctuation with time in the soiling of an optical element and the change of the reflectivity of an optical recording medium with time coping with such a fluctuation. SOLUTION: The luminous flux emitted from a laser diode 1 is converged on the signal recorded surface of an optical disk 5, reflected and detected by a detector 6 as a reflected luminous flux. A laser drive circuit 2 controls the light emitted output of the diode 1 based on the signals from an output signal comparing circuit 7 which outputs the signals corresponding to the light quantity of the reflected and detected luminous flux. |
