PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of preventing a wrong operation and quickly switching an adjusting mode in an image pickup state. SOLUTION: The image pickup device incorporates an automatic focusing function and this focusing function is turned off to manually adjust a focal distance as well. When a manual adjusting mode is obtained, the movement of a focusing knob 8 whose movement is effective as instruction input for adjusting a focus is monitored by a control part 10. When the control part 10 detects the fact that the focusing knob 8 is operated by a user of the image pickup device, so that the knob 8 has a specific movement previously set by the user of the image pickup device, the control means 10 turns off the automatic focusing function to attain switching from an automatic adjusting mode to the manual adjusting mode. |
