摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the operation fault of an actuator that is used less frequently on driving by performing preliminary operation forcibly, to confirm the operation state of a vibration-wave actuator based on the off/on operation of an ignition key. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 1 controls vibration-wave motors 9, 12, and 15, based on a program being written into a ROM and has an EEPROM for writing control data and a RAM for storing each information during operation. When the operation of an ignition key is detected, the vibration-wave motors 9, 12, and 15 are driven forcibly. At this time, to cope with failures such as sealing between vibrator and a rotator, an alternate signal with a phase which is no different is supplied to a piezoelectric element for preventing the rotator from being rotated. Then, an alternate signal with a different phase is supplied for obtaining the rotator, the output encoders 10, 13, and 16 is detected and the rotator is returned to its original position after moving slightly, certain amount of travel so that a drive device itself will not be affected.
