PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a water pool in a gas passage groove in a separator provided on a cathode side electrode in a solid high polymer electrolyte fuel cell, and prevent the instability or deterioration of cell output by the water pool. SOLUTION: In a solid high polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprising a solid high polymer electrolyte film, electrodes jointed on both sides of the solid high polymer electrolyte film, and separators respectively jointed on the outer sides of the electrodes and each having a reaction gas passage groove to supply fuel gas or oxidizer gas to the electrode in a junction surface with the electrode, the reaction gas passage groove formed on the separator surface at least on the cathode side comprises vertical grooves of a specified interval extended from the oxidizer gas introducing side to the oxidizer gas discharge side, and horizontal grooves 12 of a specified interval which extends roughly perpendicular with respect to the vertical grooves, and rib surfaces 14 between the grooves are provided low at the most downstream part of flow in the separator to form continuity spaces 15 to get the vertical grooves continuous with each other. |
