PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having constitution capable of suppressing reflection of light on a boundary between a liquid crystal layer and a glass substrate. SOLUTION: This device uses a light source having emission lines in a visible range as the light source. At this time, this device is provided with a laminated structure consisting of a transparent electrode layer 14, an oriented layer 16a and one or plural transparent intermediate layers 12a, b having a refractive index which is smaller than that of the transparent electrode layer 14 and larger than that of a liquid crystal layer 18 or a transparent substrate on the inside surface of the transparent substrate of a glass substrate or the like which constitutes the device. The respective emission line wave lengths of the light source decide the thicknesses of respective layers or the like so that the total reflectance to be generated on boundaries among respective layers of the laminated structure becomes <=0.5%. |
