PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in the inverter capacity and the dielectric strength of a motor by suppressing increase in the output voltage and current of the motor. SOLUTION: In a control method for a permanent magnet synchronous motor 51 being driven by a variable voltage variable frequency inverter 66, a current component (d-axis current component) Id* in same direction as the field of the motor is determined based on the current component (q-axis current component) Iq* perpendicular to the direction of the field of the motor. The d-axis current component Td* is controlled from the region where the terminal voltage in the vicinity of the rated speed of the motor increases depending on the motor torque T* thus suppressing increase at the terminal voltage. |
