PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing composite plastic/glass optical parts having resistance to deformation induced by a change in temp. and humidity. SOLUTION: Optical plastic and optical glass having substantially the same absorbable and dispersible characteristics and refractive indices are selected (10, 12). Both are mingled well (180. For example, glass pellets and plastic pellets are mixed by a dry process. The mixture composed thereof is heated up to the m. p. of the optical plastic (20). The glass pellets are not deformed at this relatively low temp. The glass packed transparent optical parts are molded from the mixture by executing ordinary injection molding treatment on the smooth glass surfaces of the glass pellets in such a state that the molten plastic is held wet (22). The refractive indices and/or dispersible and absorbable characteristics of the glass and the plastic may be deliberately slightly mismatched. The degree of the mismatching is determined by the final purpose of the optical parts. |
