PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain dialing quickly and surely to a desired destination by reading a called party's number corresponding to an entered called party's name from a registered dial registration table consisting of records for each registration number where a called party's name and called party's number in cross reference with each registration number are registered and making automatic dialing to the called party's number. SOLUTION: A dial registration table is registered in advance to a RAM 4. A system control section 2 displays a message 'Pleace designate the called party's name' on an operation display section 9 when an original is set to a scanner 5 and an abbreviation key is depressed. When the called party's name is entered, the control section 2 allows the operation display section 9 to display the called party's name, the called party's number and the registration number registered in the dial registration table to allow the user to confirm them and makes dialing to the called party's number and makes facsimile transmission processing. Thus, dialing is made by designating a communication called party by the called party's name.
