PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly discriminate an original read as a specified original regardless of the use environment of an image reader by setting the collating order of plural data for discriminating the specified original as an order decided in accordance with an environment in which the image reader is used. SOLUTION: A specified original recognizing part 106 reads out reference order data corresponding to the use environment of the image reader 10, namely, that of a copying machine 1 from a reference order data storing part 104, and sets a reference order shown by the reference order data as the discriminating order of the specified original. Then, the specified original recognizing part 106 successively reads out reference data from the reference data storing part 104 by the reference order set in accordance with the use environment. The pattern data of the specified original shown by the reference data read and that of the image of an original given by a pattern extracting part 105 are successively compared and collated, so that discrimination whether the specified original is included in the original read or not is executed based on a collated result. |
