PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimension measuring method and its equipment which can quickly and precisely measure the dimension of a plurality of objects to be measured which are different in height, without requiring much time and labor. SOLUTION: A dimension calculating part 36 reads a second function from a storage device 34, substitutes coordinate data relating to the longitudinal dimension and the transversal dimension of a plane image of an object W to be measured into the second function, obtains corrected coordinates, the number of pixcells between the respective corrected coordinates is calculated, and makes them the longitudinal dimension and the transversal dimension of the plane image of the object W to be measured. When the data of the height dimension are given from a data extraction part 35, the dimension calculating part 36 reads a first function from the storage device 34, and calculates the number of pixcells between the coordinates, substitutes it into the first function, thereby obtaining the height dimension of the object W. The dimension calculating part 36 subtracts the height dimension of the object W from this first distance, thereby obtaining the distance from a first image sensing device 1 to the upper part of the object W. From this distance and the longitudinal and the transversal dimensions of the plane image of the object W, the dimension measuring part 36 calculates the longitudinal dimension and the transversal dimension of the object W. |
