PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent iron powder in air from entering a ventilation cooling system rotating electric machine, and to prevent the characteristic of the rotating electric machine from deteriorating by providing means for causing magnetic attracting forces to act in a ventilation duct and controlling the magnetic attracting forces of these magnets by a control means. SOLUTION: In a ventilation cooling system permanent magnet type rotating electric machine which blows out wind sucked in with a fan 2 by driving a blower motor 1, the blowout hole 6 of a blower through a ventilation duct 3, and performs forced air cooling, permanent magnets 4 for attracting iron powder in ventilation air are provided in the ventilation duct 3. Here, at the time of operating the ventilation cooing system permanent magnet type rotating electric machine, the permanent magnets 4 are approached by the ventilation duct 3 with the control means, and iron powder existing in the ventilation duct 3 are attracted on the wall surface of the ventilation duct 3. Following this, the permanent magnets 4 are separated from the ventilation duct 3, and the iron powder attracted on the wall surface of the ventilation duct 3 is dropped downwards and retrieved, by the control means, at the time of a stop of the ventilation cooing system permanent magnet type rotating electric machine. |
