PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LCD having a bright display screen while maintaining small power consumption. SOLUTION: At the back of an LCD panel 10, an illuminating part constituted by being provided with a light source 30 and a condensing lens 40 on a light transmission plate 20 is installed. On the front surface and the rear surface of the panel 10, polarizing plates 14, 15 having high transmissivity are provided. Lights from the light source 30 and the condensing lens 40 are introduced into the light transmission plate 20 and optical losses to be generated while they pass through a diffusing plate, the LCD panel 10 and the polarizing plates 14, 15 are reduced and the total transmissity is enhanced. |
