PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling a polarizing plate and a cover glass and to maintain good display quality for a long time by substantially finishing thermal shrinkage of the polarizing plate while heating before the process of adhering the cover glass. SOLUTION: In a first process, a polarizing plate 1 of a shape and dimension in consideration with thermal shrinkage is adhered to a glass substrate 3 of a liquid crystal cell. In a second process, the liquid crystal cell with the polarizing plate 1 adhered is left to stand in a dry temp. controlling machine controlled at about 85 deg.C for about 20 hours. By cutting the polarizing plate 1 in the first process into the size larger than the specified shape by the thermal shrinkage of the plate in every direction, the polarizing plate 1 can be formed into the specified shape after the heat treatment. In a third process, a silicon UV-curing resin 4 is used to adhere a cover glass 2 to the polarizing plate 1. First. the UV-curing resin 4 is applied on the polarizing plate and then the cover glass is applied without intrusion of bubbles. Then the resin is irradiated with UV rays to complete hardening of the resin in a short time. |
