PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent orientation by preventing orientation of liquid crystal from falling into disorder in a display device using liquid crystal. SOLUTION: A display electrode 2 is formed parallelogrammatic, and slits 1 which are electrode-vacant part to a counter electrode are provided along the two sides including an obtuse angle of the parallelogram. Liquid crystal is induced to tilt by distortion of electric field generated by the end of the display electrode 2 and the slits 1, however, since the display electrode 2 is formed parallelogrammatic, it is possible to make the direction of tilt of the liquid crystal induced by the end of display electrode 2 and the slits 1 less than 90 degrees in all area of the display electrode and an excellent oriented state is obtained. |
