摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the adverse effect of black matrix potential to display by forming a common electrode line so as to surround the outer periphery of a pixel area, superposing a pixel electrode to a common electrode line in an outer peripheral part, forming a light shielding layer on the outside of the pixel area, and superposing the light shielding layer to the common electrode line formed on the outer peripheral part of the pixel. SOLUTION: Scanning lines 3, signal lines 4, thin film transistor(TFT) parts 6, pixel electrodes 7 each of which is formed so as to have a common electrode line and a superposed part, and common electrode lines 5 each of which is formed so as to surround each pixel area are formed on a TFT substrate. A black matrix 9 formed on the outsides of pixel areas close to the signal lines 4 and the scanning lines 3, a color filter for color display and an overcoat layer are formed on a counter substrate and a liquid crystal(LC) orientation layer and an LC layer are formd between the two substrates. Namely each pixel electrode 7 is overlapped on the common electrode line on the outer peripheral part, the black matrix 9 is arranged on the outsides of the pixel areas and overlapped on the common electrode lines 5 on the peripheral parts of pixels.
