PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain durability against wear, to improve the ability to clean a magnetic head and to prevent the occurrence of the clogging of the head by providing at least two abrasive layers on one of the sides of a supporting body. SOLUTION: The average grain diameters of the abrasives in the two abrasive layers are varied for every layer. The grain diameters of the layer away from a supporting body are made smaller than the grain diameters of the other layer. The grain diameters in the layer close to the body are made larger. It is desirable to include magnetic powder in at least one of the abrasive contained layers. It is also desirable that the smallest average grain diameter of the abrasives is set to 0.01 to 0.6μm and the greatest average grain diameter of the abrasives is set to 0.4 to 2.5μm. Non-magnetic inorganic powder having a Mohs scale of >=5 or preferably >=6 is used for the abrasives. Specific examples of the abrasives include aluminum oxide, chromium oxide, iron oxide, silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.
