PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic bar code which is difficult to be forged or altered by allowing a magnetic bar capable of magnetic recording only in a demagnetized state and a magnetic bar capable of magnetic recording by operating overwrite from a magnetized state, to coexist. SOLUTION: In a magnetic card (recording medium) 10, a magnetic bar code part is provided on a magnetic recording layer. The magnetic bar code part is constituted of plural bars 13A, 13A, 13B, and 13C each with interval. A bar 13S is provided with magnetic characteristics capable of magnetic recording only in a demagnetized state at normal temperature, and the rewriting of recording by a magnetic head is made impossible. The bars 13A and 13B are constituted of a reversible magnetic body, and the rewriting of a magnetizing direction (magnetization pattern) is made possible by the magnetic head. The bar 13A is constituted of a semi-hard magnetic body with high coercion, and the bar 13B is constituted of a soft magnetic body with low coercive force. The bar 13C is a dummy bar constituted of a non-magnetic body. |
