PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sense of a stereophonic sound field without excessively increasing the number of channels of multi-channel audio signals. SOLUTION: For example, an instrument group B as a sound source is placed at a position closest toward listener seats, a chorus A as a sound source is placed behind the group B. Then Beethoven's 9th symphony is recorded through 6 channels in total consisting of front rear 2-channels (AR, AL) and forward 2-channels (L, R) and rear 2-channels (SL, SR). In reproduction, the first left and right loudspeakers SP-AL, SP-AR are placed in front of and comparatively remote from listeners corresponding to the sound recording position, the second left and right speakers SP-L, SP-R are placed at positions in front of and comparatively close to the listeners and the third left and right speakers SP-SL, SP-SR are placed behind the listeners. |
