摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently set a unique system number for a supervisory control system of a repeater that relays signals in optical transmission line. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a terminal station 11 installed at one end of optical transmission lines which are used for transmission and supervisory control, and plural relay stations 12, which are individually installed at relay points to relay transmission signals. Information requesting the setting of a system number of each relay station, end information denoting the setting end, and number confirmation information corresponding to the system number are put in an excess field of a supervision control frame. The terminal station 11 has a number setting request means 13 that sends a frame including the setting request information addressed to a desired relay station. Each relay station 12 is provided with a number setting means 14, that sets a system number corresponding to idle number confirmation information included in the setting request information addressed to its own station in the frame, and with a supervisory control information relay means 15 that sets a decided value to the number confirmation information and an end notice of its own station for relaying the resulting frame to a successive block.
