Road binding material is distributed by nozzles (14) from a support (13) supplied from a tank (16) by pumps (10). The pumps are driven by hydraulic motors (8,9) supplied from a tank (3) by a self regulating pump (1). A calculator (19) which receives data such as flow and pressure (18, 22) directs a regulator (2) such that for given rates of advance and dosage a constant torque is exerted on the pumps (10).
