The control of bias voltage enables improved accuracy of data transfer during the reading process. The system provides control of an optical detector using charge transfer, comprising several photodetector elements, each of which may be connected to a parallel input of a charge transfer device. During the period of integration of the charges in the photodetector elements, these elements are subjected to a high polarisation voltage. During each transfer instant the photodetector elements are connected to the charge transfer device and the polarisation voltage is reduced.
