Pantoprazole and omeprazole film tablet and pellet used for treating conditions associated with elevated gastric acid secretion

Pantoprazole and omeprazole tablets and pellets have a core containing the active ingredient coated with a neutralized gastric acid-resistant film former to improve stability. A pantoprazole or omeprazole tablet or pellet for oral administration comprises: (a) a core containing the active ingredient as an alkali salt and/or with the addition other alkaline substances; and (b) a core coating of neutralized gastric acid-resistant film former; and optionally (c) one or more additional coatings of gastric acid-resistant film formers. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of the tablets and pellets.
