REAL-TIME ENCODING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VIDEO SEQUENCE USING TWO ENCODERS AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real-time VBR video encoding system which can improve the picture quality of an encoding video sequence while keeping a high compression ratis. SOLUTION: A method, a system and a computer product are prepared to encode adaptively and in real time a sequence of video frames via the hardware, soafware or a combination of them. A 1st encoding subsystem 330 analyzes the sequence of video frames and collects information on at least one of those characteristics such as a movement statistic, non-movement statistic, scene change statistic or scene fading statistic. The collected information may have either intra-frame characteristic. A control processor 350 is connected to the system 330 to automatically analyze in real time the collected information and to dynamically produce a set of control parameters. Then a 2nd encoding subsystem 360 connected to the processor 350 encodes each frame of the video frame sequence by means of the corresponding set of parameters.
