A chronograph coupling lever (442) positions a chronograph second transmission pinion (212b) with a chronograph mechanism not operated so that the pinion (212b) separates from a chronograph second wheel (214). With the chronograph mechanism operated, the lever (442) moves to rotate so as to keep the chronograph mechanism operating, with the result that the pinion (212b) meshes with the wheel (214). When the outer circumferential part (442f) of a guide frame comes into contact with the contact portion (202d) of a chronograph bridge (202), the lever (442) is controlled in its motion.
