<p>A rotor-type sift-resistant dispensing closure (10) of injection-molded thermoplastic having a base (11) that provides a resilient seal (33) on its dispensing hole (28) and a rotor (12) carried on the base (11) in a position that compresses the seal (33) for sealing effectiveness. The rotor (12) is accurately maintained in a flat configuration by the base (11) which retains the rotor (12) both at its center and at its periphery (14) and which stabilizes the rotor (12) against distortion with upstanding supporting ribs (27, 29) situated between the center and periphery (14) of the rotor (12). The dispensing hole (28) in the base (12) has a knockout panel (51) that assures a sift-proof construction, simplifies assembly of the closure, and is easy to open.</p> |
