Determination of conductor set-architecture for linking of at least electrical components comprises the formation of a discrimination variable vector which contains discrimination variables for type, number and arrangement of linking modules and cabling paths. The process is for the determination of a conductor set-architecture for the linking of at least two electrical components which have a number of terminal contacts available, are spatially separated from one another and are connected by leads. According to default of information about the electrical wiring logic with which the terminal contacts can be connected and the spatially specified cabling paths along which connecting leads can be laid, by establishment of genetic evolution algorithms, a determination of type, number and arrangement of linking modules which represent electrical switching units, plus type, number and arrangement of part-conductor sets, electrical connections between the linking modules as well as corresponding to the electrical components are undertaken. A discrimination variable vector is formed which contains discrimination variables for the type, number and arrangement of the linking modules as well as for the type, number and arrangement of the cabling paths of the connections and the part-conductor sets arising from them. These comprise all possible implementable solution variants specified by the electrical switching logic and by the cabling paths.
