The invention concerns a method for preparing an aromatic thiol bearing an amino group from a hydroxylated compound bearing an amino group. The invention also concerns the starting reagents, the intermediate products such as an aromatic S-arylthiocarbamate and the method for obtaining them and the derived products such as thioethers. The invention concerns a method for the transposition of an O-arylthiocarbamate compound bearing at least one amino group into a S-arylthiocarbamate compound bearing at least one amino group, characterised in that it consists in heating an O-arylthiocarbamate compound bearing at least one amino group and an electroattractive group. The resulting S-arylthiocarbamate compound is used as intermediate for making an aromatic thiol or thioether.
