<p>By the invention, there is realised a need for the provision of a system for correction of movement by an inclined movement of a computer input device (1) in order to make utilisation of pen-like computer input devices (1) possible in practise. Initially, in order to compensate for the error by the detection it is necessary for the correction system to know the writing position of the user. Therefore, the invention relates to a method for individual user calibration of an input device (1) for the input of data to a computer through movement of the input device (1) relative to an underlying surface, and a method of movement correction during the operation of an input device (1) for input of data to a computer in such a way that the corrected movement (CM) essentially corresponds to the actual movement (AM) of the input device (1) relative to the substrate. Moreover the invention relates to an input device (1) for input of data to a computer, such as positioning a cursor (3) on a computer screen (2), comprising an elongated, substantively tubular housing (16), detection means (11, 12) being mounted in said housing for registration of the movements of the input device at least in a plane corresponding to an underlying surface, and that said housing is provided with means (10) for registration of relative movement between the input device (1) and an underlying surface, where the elongated, substantively tubular housing (16) at least in a section is provided with a rotary non-symmetrical cross-sectional shape (17). Hereby it is avoided that the input device (1) during use unintentionally is rotated in the hand of the operator, which otherwise could constitute another source of error in relation to the detection of movement.</p> |
