Controlling spinning run-up in washing machine or dryer

After the acceleration, the imbalance value is registered. The spinning run-up is interrupted and the washing is redistributed when the imbalance value exceeds a maximum imbalance which is smaller than the limit value. Alternatively, the drum (2) is accelerated to the final spinning speed when the imbalance value falls short of a minimum value, or the drum (2) is accelerated to a second speed at which the weights move freely when the imbalance value lies between the minimum imbalance and the maximum imbalance. An imbalance value is registered and the washing is redistributed when the value exceeds the maximum value.
