The coupling arrangement (14) comprises a metallic coupling sleeve (16), which grips over the end. A press sleeve (20) is provided which is axially slidable on the coupling sleeve. The press sleeve has inwardly projecting, stepped and round profilings. The coupling arrangement has at least one inner sleeve (18), which lies against a peripheral section of the pipe end. The inner sleeve consists of a softer material than that of the coupling sleeve.
