Draining device which has, at the bottom, an annular opening intended for being placed over the opening of a tin of paint, varnish or the like, and, at the top, a sloping surface which ends in a ridge whose vertical projection faces the space delimited by the annular opening. This draining device is used to drain excess paint from a paintbrush previously loaded with paint by pressing it laterally against the ridge or against the sloping surface, with the result that the excess paint falls inside the tin. <IMAGE>
