摘要 |
A rare earth catalyst is supported on an inert organic polymer having a particle size of 1 microns -2 mm, a specific surface area of at least 0.5 m<2>/g and a pore volume of 0.1-15 ml/g. A catalyst (I) comprises: (A) one or more rare earth compounds consisting of an alcoholate, carboxylate, a rare earth complex with a diketone or an addition compound of a rare earth halide with an oxygen, sulfur, phosphorous or nitrogen donor compound of formula (1)-(4); (B) one or more organoaluminum compounds, consisting of an aluminum trialkyl, a dialkyl aluminum hydride or an open chain or cyclic aluminoxane of formula (5)-(8); (C) one or more Lewis acids; (D) an inert organic polymer having a particle size of 1 micron-2 mm, a specific surface area of at least 0.5 m<2>/g and a pore volume of 0.1-15 ml/g; and (E) a conjugated diene. Independent claims are included for: (i) a process for the preparation of (I) by mixing (A)-(D) and optionally (E) in an inert organic solvent and/or diluent at -20 to100 deg C in any order followed by separation of the solvent and/or diluent; (ii) a process for the polymerization of conjugated dienes in the gas phase using (I).
