The invention relates to a method for producing a saucer-shaped vacuum insulating panel. According to said method a) straight grooves are placed parallel to each other across the entire surface of one side of a flat panel made of a porous plastic material, b) said panel is vacuum-sealed on all sides with a gas-tight film in a vacuum chamber, and c) normal pressure is restored in the vacuum chamber.
