The interior insulating material, in a layered structure, has a paper layer, an adhesive layer and a layer of hemp and/or flax fibers together with an aluminum layer if required. The hemp or flax fiber layer is a nonwoven, as a needle bonded nonwoven or needle bonded random-laid nonwoven, and pref. mainly if hemp fibers in a layer thickness of at least 2 mm. The paper layer is in a weight of at least 100 g/m<2>, using heavy duty paper or recycled paper. The adhesive layer is of a heat setting adhesive and pref. a bitumen adhesive, or it can be a cold setting adhesive as a watery dispersion or a solution. An Independent claim is included for the production of the material where the paper surface is coated with a heat setting adhesive, and the layers are applied to be bonded and cooled, with not more than 20 sec. between coating and cooling. When using a cold setting adhesive, the drying stage is at a temp. of at least 120 degrees C.
