Method of regulating quality of paint coats, e.g. for painting motor vehicles

The method involves performing measurements (5-7) on the still wet paint (22) at optional points on the object (20), storing the measurement values and comparing them with desired values to predict the quality of the dried paint coating and to derive quality parameters from them. The film thickness, thickness distribution, quantity of solvent and solid components are measured contactlessly. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for painting components.
