System in which provision is made for the use of a single valve for the intake and exhaust phases, opening fully over the entire surface of the cylinder, providing a system for opening and closing the inlet and exhaust manifolds which are graduated in terms of time and precise moment as a function of the speed of the engine in question. Use of a single valve for the two phases of intake and exhaust simplifies the auxiliary-means assembly, achieves greater cooling for the exhaust phase and makes the system more durable, produces greater power, gives rise to increased fuel economy and less pollution, in addition to a number of advantages in terms of the construction of the assembly. <IMAGE>
