The elastic seal is formed by applying an elastic layer (4) of uniform height onto the base (5) of a groove (2) along the prefabricated frame profile (1). Individual frame pieces are then cut with mitered ends and formed into a frame around the window pane which embeds itself in the seal. An Independent claim is made for a prefabricated frame profile with an elastic seal along the frame groove.
