Grafted polyolefin granules containing an antioxidant are treated by exposure to a gaseous atmosphere containing water vapor. Process for treating granules of a grafted polyolefin containing an antioxidant additive, wherein the granules of grafted polyolefin are contacted with a gaseous atmosphere containing water vapor. Independent claims are included covering a process for producing grafted polyolefins by feeding a polyolefin, a graftable functional monomer and a free radical generator into an extruder and conducting the grafting reaction in the melt in the extruder and adding an antioxidant additive to the molten mass before it reaches the evacuation zone of the extruder.
