A split crank-rod has an integral big end bushing comprising a deposited alloy layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) manufacture of a split crank-rod with an integral big end bushing by plasma spray deposition of an alloy layer on the surface of the crank-head passage, using an internal torch of size adapted to the passage size, and then machining the layer to the desired thickness; and (ii) an alloy used for producing an integrated bushing of a crank-rod and selected from (a) 5-25% Sn, 1-3% Cu, balance Al and impurities; (b) 5-20% Sn, 2-6% Si, 1-3% Cu, balance Al and impurities; (c) 5-25% Sn, 2-5% Zn, 1-2% Mg, 1-2% Cu, balance Al and impurities; and (d) 3-10% Sn, 5-25% Al, balance Cu and impurities. |
