The paper shredder switches on automatically when a sheet of paper is inserted into the slot. A diagonal notched area (6,6a) is positioned between a drive (4) and cutting unit (1). The hub (7) of a sprocket (5) can be moved along the axle (8) causing the sprocket to move towards an outer bearing plate (11). A return spring (9) is attached to the axle between the hub and bearing plate. To avoid paper strips to be caught inside the cutting unit, a control element (10,10a) positioned adjacent to the drive keeps the cutting units moving until all paper shreds have left the device. |
