Steel for manufacturing anchors for the mining industry, composed of carbon, manganese, and max. 0.45 percent silicon by weight, max. 0.040 percent phosphorus, max. 0.040 percent sulphur, max. 0.25 percent chromium, max. 0.25 percent nickel, max. 0.40 percent copper, max. 0.05 percent molybdenum, vanadium and max. 0.018 percent nitrogen, the remainder iron and inevitable impurities, wherein it contains max. 0.27 percent carbon, max. 1.60 percent manganese and max. 0.25 percent vanadium.
