The invention relates to a method of covering an object possessing a front face to be covered by means of a flexible cover, consisting in cutting out a piece made of flexible material of a shape corresponding to that of the front face of the object with an additional border around the outline, in stitching over this border auxiliary threads, forming oversewing (overcasting) which defines a passageway on the edging of the said border, in installing, in the passageway of the oversewing, a composite thread comprising a conductive wire coated with a hot-melt adhesive (thermally bonding material), in covering the front face of the object so that the border extends beyond the outline of this object, in folding over the said border as edging of the object and in shortening the length the composite thread engaged in the passageway of the oversewing by pulling (exerting traction forces) in opposite directions on the ends of this thread and, finally, in connecting the conductive wire to a current source so as to heat the hot-melt adhesive and to seal, all around its perimeter, the edging of the border onto a support. |
