<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a glass formed body having an excellent face accuracy identical to that of the conventional body in a shorter cycle time. SOLUTION: In this process, the glass formed body is produced by repeating a stage (A) for forming the glass formed body by pressurizing a preheated glass blank by a preheated upper die 20 and lower die 30, a stage (B) for cooling the thus formed glass formed body, (C) a stage for veleasing the cooled glass formed body by parting the upper die and the lower die and a stage (D) for preheating the glass blank and the upper and lower dies. In such a case, at least one of the upper die and the lower die is movable and the upper die and the lower die are preheated by induction heating in the state of preheating the same parted from each other. After the preheated glass blank is supplied to the preheated lower die in the parted state, the pressurizing stage (A) is executed by moving either of the upper die or the lower die.</p> |
